The DME supports the exchange of students, both outgoing and incoming. Have a look at what other students have to say on such exchanges...

September 2004
I am David Spiteri, student representative and a final year student of this faculty. Thanks for showing interest in this department as it was here where I discovered the importance manufacturing engineering has on industry as well as society. Manufacturing is a discipline which involves the decision-making process in many related fields. It is through the Department of Manufacturing Engineering (DME) where undergraduates like me are provided with a strong foundation in the core areas including Product Development, Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Systems Design.
Apart from Creating, Making and Managing, this department also addresses other necessary skills needed in today’s manufacturing world. Communication skills and teamwork are amongst the skills I have experienced throughout my undergraduate course. And through this, I believe, I have achieved a valuable experience in terms of developing myself as an individual, both on a personal level and more so, on a professional level.
I was also lucky to be given the opportunity to go on a student exchange where I spent four months studying at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. Academically this university has a lot to offer and student life blended in perfectly in this city. But above all, living, working and interacting with the other students was a remarkable experience which I will cherish the rest of my life.
Regards,
