Forms have been distributed to all students in order to select the elective study units that will be taken in the second semester. Please ensure that the selection forms are handed in by the 9th December. These can be handed to the faculty officer. Representatives on the Board of Studies 

The MSc in Integrated Product Development Board of Studies currently has two vacant posts that have to be filled by student representatives. It is being requested that students select their two representatives on the board, possibly by not later than the Christmas recess. Board of Studies meetings generally take place on Wednesday afternoons. The selected student representatives should inform the Faculty Officer accordingly. The faculty officer will then be informing the people concerned on the scheduled board of studies meetings.

Exams 

Exams for the 1st semester study units are to be scheduled for the period 23rd January to the 4th February 2006. The temporary scheduled dates for these exams have been set as follows;
Tuesday 24th January            MFE5001 Fundamentals of Product Development 
Thursday 26th January          MGT5056 Principles and Practices of Management        
Tuesday 31st January            MME5001 Materials Engineering in Products and Processes
Thursday 2nd February        MFE5002 Lean and Agile Manufacturing

It may be possible to arrange the dates and times (within the two week time frame) to better suit the students. It would therefore be appreciated if feedback can be provided on the preferred dates and times of the students as a group, so that exam sessions can be scheduled accordingly. Student preferences should be forwarded to Dr Conrad Pace at cmpace@eng.um.edu.mt, by not later than the 21st December.

Examination Structure

Exams for 1st semester study units will be of a 2.5 hr duration.
 

• It has been confirmed by the University Precincts office that Tue and Thur lectures will be delivered at the Engineering Lecture Theature (ELT).
• All MSc IPD course participants  need to register for January 2006 module examinations.   The exam registration form (please download and print) needs to be submitted to the Faculty Office of the Engineering Faculty by not later than the end of October 2005.

• Course commences on Tuesday 4th October at 16.30 hrs.   As this will be your first lecture of the whole degree/diploma, 30 minutes for 'networking over welcome drinks' with the other course participants and with the staff members have been planned.
• From the applications received, over 20 applicants have been accepted to start the course.
• Lectures will be normally held twice weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17.00hrs [sharp]  to 20.00 hrs.
• As parking on campus may be a problem, course participants are kindly asked to allow 5-10 minutes allowance for parking their car to make it to their lecture room in time.
