• Wide Area Networks 

Point-to-Point Protocols:  ASCII data link control, HDLC, X21
Frame Replay - framing, packet control and error recovery
Transport layer architectures and cirucits.  Routing algorithms.  Delay analysis and polling techniques
Session Layer:  Ene-to-end transmission using various protocols such as TEP/IP, X-25, ATM, X-400

Assessment
Coursework - 10% 
Exam - 90%
